2010—The Year That Was
In July we headed to Tideswell in the Peak District for a week. We found a nice safe parking spot by the war memorial
On the Sunday we went to Matlock Bath for the weekly bike meet
Janet taking it easy outside the sweetie shop
We also found some time for walking, here on the Monsal Trail
On our return from the Peak District Janet wanted to try out the new FZ8, which she'd seen for the first time in Matlock Bath. Andy finally took the opportunity to ride the VFR1200. Janet wasn't particularly keen on the FZ8, not feeling that it offered any clear advantages over her Hornet
However, her eyes lit up when it was suggested that she might prefer the FZ1. She was offered a test ride and a great deal on the FZ1. The test ride showed it to be an altogether different animal from the FZ8 and she jumped at the chance to have a 1000 cc bike in the garage again, picking it up in late July
Andy's birthday is in late August, so we spent a few days in London . . . and no trip to London is complete without a trip to the Ace Cafe
Then we went to Cornwall on the bikes for a few days
Andy always has to go to extremes—in this case Land's End
Our hotel was very close to RNAS Culdrose, and it was pleasant to spend a little time watching the comings and goings . . .
. . . while enjoying a breakfast!
