Bikes and the City     The Bristol Bike Show is an annual event, and is now in its tenth year. This year fancy dress was optional! It is held at St Nicholas Markets—an area of small streets, cobbled lanes, covered market halls and, of course, many small bars.

    The prize for the fattest back tyre goes to this 300 section Avon       This is the customised V-Rod that was wearing the oversized “boot”       And the prize for the widest handlebars . . .       The genuine article . . .       . . . and Kawasaki's genuine article       A nice trio of Guzzis       This 500 cc, four cylinder Douglas special was a nice piece of engineering       There were quite a few bands performing on small stages around the area       One of the aims of the show is to introduce bikes to a wider audience—looks like it's succeeding!       Time for a beer . . .       . . . and a little bit of “people watching”       This is what the show is really all about
