A Weekend in Cornwall

Having gone to India for Janet's 50th birthday trip a couple of weeks before the “big day”, we decided to spend the weekend after her birthday a little closer to home, at a favourite guest house in Tintagel, on the north coast of Cornwall.

It would have been a shame to leave the birthday flowers at home, so we brought them with us and put them in the window of our room

Boscastle suffered from very serious flooding in 2004 — the level is marked on this pub entrance — though fortunately no lives were lost

Next stop Bude, where there is a canal running down to the sea
